Can I put my handicap in my Garmin Approach G6?

Last Updated: Jun 21, 2013 01:34PM EDT
The Approach G6 allows you to setup a handicap either at a particular hole or by player. Before any handicap is imposed on a player or a hole, the handicap setting will need to be turned on.

To turn on the handicap setting:

Select Setup from Main menu
Touch Scoring
Touch Scoring Handicap
Select On
With the handicap turned on, the handicap by player can now be set:

Press Score when on the golf course map
Touch the 3-line menu
Select Set Up Players*
Touch pencil icon on specific player
Set the handicap by selecting Local Handicap or Index/Slope Method
The player's handicap will be set for the entire round of golf.

If it is preferred to set a handicap for a particular hole*, follow the first two steps listed from previously mentioned instructions. Select Change Handicap instead of Setup Up Players.

If available, the Approach will display a default handicap for the hole that can be viewed by pressing the Score button. Changing the handicap is available if it is inaccurate or you prefer it be changed.

*When the handicap is turned on, but no players have been setup, the G6 will automatically go to the Set Up Players page. Press the check mark to start recording player's strokes.
